You blink and it’s winter, that’s how it always happens. You go to sleep with the cold winds of fall blowing outside your window and, wake up to a thick layer of snow covering everything. All of sudden, you are in a winter wonderland. While there are a few people who revere winters, most just cringe and squirm with this new weather around them. Instead of counting all the flaws of winters, why don’t we allow ourselves to appreciate the things that we can only experience in winters? Why not stir things up a bit with some cheerful blossoms around our houses? If our suggestions have managed to piqué your interest, then let us offer you some ideas: • Red Roses with Some Green No color can penetrate through the utter whiteness of snow like red. Give your mantel a red and green glow by adorning it with red roses and green foliage. It could be ivy, Eucalyptus, ferns, lily grass or anything along the line. Watch your house turn up with colors the second you place this floral arrangement. • Dark Hues If you favor deep-hued colors, then Mother Nature has provided us with flowers just your type. We suggest you find yourselves some vases and order an assortment of anemones, magnolia, scabiosa, thistle, orchids, sweet peas, and berries. Arrange these all together and watch how classy and bright your house looks in the otherwise very dull world outside. • Winter Jasmine If you wish to add some pizzazz to your room, bring in some dazzling colors, and introduce winter jasmines. Their shiny olive-green shoots and pallid yellow petals bring a wave of positivity and will change your dark mood to an upbeat one in a matter of minutes, and you’ll find yourself actually liking winters. If you are not a fan of heady scents of flowers, then you’ll love these winter jasmines even more. The best part is, these flowers are also perfect for Christmas, so if you plant them in late fall and take good care of them, then they’ll stay with you for a long time. • The Elegant Purple Flowers We might not realize this, but flowers actually mirror our moods and personalities. If you like things to be more royal, elegant and graceful, then we suggest you go for purple flowers and order garden roses, hellebores, anemones, andromedas, seeded eucalyptus, and freesias. Flower arrangements are not limited to side tables and mantels. You can bring a lot more blush during the pale winters in your house. You can begin by creating a floral décor for the mirror, or a blooming garland to decorate the fireplace. Don’t forget to place cute little flowers on your windowsills and some high-end floral arrangement as centerpieces. With such natural colors and mesmerizing scent around the house, your winters will be anything but dull. (still waiting for two pictures)
